Are you in need of a plumber to do some Drain Cleaning because your drain is backed up? Or are you asking yourself - Can I do my own Drain Cleaning? Well here are a couple of home remedies or natural ways you can unclog the drains yourself. If your drain is completely clogged try to flush your drain by first trying to remove as much water out of the sink and pour one cup of baking soda down the drain then pour boiling hot water down the drain to clear. If drain empties out, carefully pour one more pot of hot water to flush out completely, then run cool water down the drain. This is a good method for clearing drains with simple clogs.
Drain Cleaning for Stubborn Clogs
For more stubborn clogs try this method for drain cleaning. First empty out as much water out of sink then pour one cup of baking soda in the drain, then one cup of household vinegar and then place your drain stopper and leave covered for minimum half hour. Then remove the stopper and carefully pour boiling water down the drain. After the sink drains follow up with another pouring of boiling water down the sink and finally run cool water down the drain. This is a good method for clearing drains with stubborn clogs.
Other Methods for Drain Cleaning
Another method for drain cleaning is Plunging your drain. You can go to your local hardware store and buy a smaller sized plunger for a few dollars and just make sure you have a few inches of water in the sink so there will be a proper seal. If none of these methods work and if possible leave your clogged sink alone over night and you will most likely find that it slowly drained out. If in the morning it did drain out then do another flush as described above. If it did not drain out over night then you will need to take out your trap from underneath your sink and see if there is a large item blocking your pipe. If you do not know how to remove the trap, then search for a plumber to remove a trap to clear a clogged or blocked sink drain. You may need plumber service for Drain and Sewer Cleaning.
